How to reach your hotel

Taxi

There is a yellow-taxi rank outside arrivals: allow around 20 minutes to central Tunis, a little longer to Sidi Bou Said or La Marsa. Insist on the meter.

Private transfer

Handy for going straight to Hammamet, Nabeul or Bizerte, or for a late flight: your driver waits for you in the arrivals hall with a name board.

Car hire

Car hire companies have desks in the arrivals hall. Ideal if you are heading on to Cap Bon, the north-west or the Sahel.

Public transport

City buses link the airport with the centre, but they are impractical with luggage. Taxis remain the most common option.

Good to know

  • At rush hour, crossing Tunis can double your journey time: leave plenty of margin for a late-afternoon return flight.
  • For Hammamet, the A1 motorway gets you to the resort in about an hour.
  • Arrive at least two hours before an international flight: departure checks can be slow in summer.
