Independent travel guide to Tunisia
Tunisia Explore Travel guide

About Tunisia Explore

Tunisia Explore is an independent travel guide written by Tunisians who love their country and want to share it as it really is: its medinas, coastline, oases, food and the warm hospitality of its people. Our aim is simple: to give you clear, practical information so you can plan your trip with confidence.

A guide written by locals

We grew up here, we live here and we travel around the country all year long. That lets us show you Tunisia beyond the clichés: the neighbourhoods where people actually stroll, the dishes worth tasting, the time of day when a site is at its best.

We write for curious travellers, whether it is your first visit or a return trip, with family, as a couple or with friends.

Routes we have travelled ourselves

The itineraries and tips on this site come from journeys we have made ourselves, on the road, on foot through the medinas or crossing the South. We focus on what is useful on the ground: how to organise your days, how much time to allow and what to look out for.

When something needs to be checked at the time of your trip, such as opening hours or prices, we tell you so rather than giving an uncertain figure.

Information updated every season

A country keeps changing: sites reopen, roads are rebuilt, habits evolve. We review and update our content every season so that it stays reliable.

If you notice something out of date during your stay, please write to us: your feedback helps us improve the guide.

Our independence and our partners

Our editorial content is written freely. To make your trip easier, we also recommend two services, car rental and airport transfers, provided by trusted local partners we work with.

These recommendations do not shape our travel advice: we always start by telling you what is worth seeing.
