On arrival: what to know
- The Tunisian dinar cannot be bought abroad: change money at the airport (bureaux de change and cash machines in the arrivals hall) and keep your exchange receipts so you can convert any leftover dinars when you leave.
- Mobile operators have desks in the arrivals hall selling SIM cards with data packages; bring your passport.
- Yellow taxis run on the meter, with a higher night rate. Check the meter is switched on or agree the fare before setting off.
- If you are hiring a car, book ahead in high season and bring a credit card in the driver's name for the deposit, as well as your driving licence.
- A pre-booked transfer is the easiest option for late arrivals, families or anyone with lots of luggage.
Pick up your car at the airport or your hotel and travel at your own pace.
