The airport on the island of Djerba, close to Houmt Souk. It receives international flights and domestic flights from Tunis, and also serves as the gateway to Zarzis and the south.

Houmt Souk is a quarter of an hour away; the tourist zone and Midoun 25 to 30 minutes. Taxis outside run on the meter or at an agreed fare.

Private transfer

Handy for the tourist zone, Aghir or Zarzis, which you reach via the Roman causeway at El Kantara.

Car hire

With a car, you can explore the island at your own pace, then head off to Matmata, Tataouine or Douz.

Public transport

Local buses are impractical from the airport; a taxi remains the simplest option.

Good to know

To reach the mainland, choose between the Ajim–Jorf ferry, the shortest route to Matmata and Gabès, and the El Kantara causeway towards Zarzis.
Djerba is easy to get around: the island is barely 25 km across.
Domestic flights from Tunis let you combine the north and south without driving the length of the country.
